Job summary

Foundry Talent Partners in Sydney seeks a Senior Associate to join its Leveraged Finance team. You will play a key role across the full transaction lifecycle, focusing on credit analysis, financial modelling and transaction execution for leveraged buyouts, refinancings and other corporate transactions.

You will work with Relationship Managers, private equity sponsors and internal stakeholders to develop high‑quality credit papers, structure deals, monitor exposures and support portfolio

Qualifications

  • Strong credit analysis and financial assessment skills.
  • Experience analysing complex corporate borrowers and cash flows.
  • Proficient in financial modelling and statement analysis.
  • Experience preparing detailed credit papers and presenting recommendations.
  • Understanding of leverage, debt structures, covenants and credit risk.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed credit analysis of leveraged and highly geared borrowers.
  • Assess financial performance, cash flow, leverage and debt service capacity.
  • Develop and review financial models and transaction analysis.
  • Prepare high-quality credit papers and recommendations for approval.
  • Structure and execute leveraged finance transactions.
  • Collaborate with Relationship Managers, Sponsors, Credit and Legal teams.
  • Review transaction documents and ensure approvals are implemented.
  • Monitor exposures and identify credit risks.
  • Support portfolio management and client relationships.
  • Contribute to new business and transaction opportunities.

Job description

Our client is a leading Australian financial services organisation seeking a Senior Associate to join its Leveraged Finance team in Sydney.

The team works across a range of leveraged and structured transactions, partnering with private equity sponsors, corporates and internal stakeholders to deliver debt solutions for acquisitions, refinancings and other corporate transactions. The successful candidate will play a key role across the full transaction lifecycle, with a particular focus on credit analysis, financial modelling and transaction execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting detailed credit analysis of leveraged and highly geared corporate borrowers
  • Assessing financial performance, cash flow generation, leverage, debt service capacity and downside scenarios
  • Developing and reviewing financial models and transaction analysis
  • Preparing high-quality credit papers and recommendations for internal approval
  • Structuring and executing leveraged finance transactions
  • Working closely with Relationship Managers, Sponsors, Credit, Legal and other internal stakeholders
  • Reviewing transaction documentation and ensuring credit approvals are appropriately implemented
  • Monitoring existing exposures and identifying emerging credit risks
  • Supporting portfolio management and ongoing client relationships
  • Contributing to the development of new business and transaction opportunities

Experience:

  • Strong experience in credit analysis and financial assessment
  • Experience analysing complex corporate borrowers and cash flows
  • Strong financial modelling and financial statement analysis skills
  • Experience preparing detailed credit papers and presenting credit recommendations
  • An understanding of leverage, debt structures, covenants and credit risk
  • Experience working on complex lending transactions
  • Strong commercial judgement and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to manage multiple transactions and stakeholders in a high-pressure environment

Candidates from Leveraged Finance, Corporate/Institutional Banking or Project Finance backgrounds will be considered, provided they have strong underlying credit analysis experience. A competitive salary package will be negotiated for the successful candidate.
