Job description

Investment Analyst/Associate - Global Private Credit (Sydney)

Our client is a leading global private credit fund, backed by some of the largest global pools of institutional capital. The team writes financing solutions for middle-market and large-cap sponsors and corporates across leveraged buyouts, growth, refinancings and recapitalisations, investing sector-agnostically. Deals are typically $200mio+ though the team retains the flexibility to pursue smaller high-conviction opportunities.

The Business

Our client is a leading global private credit fund, backed by some of the largest global pools of institutional capital. The team writes financing solutions for middle-market and large-cap sponsors and corporates across leveraged buyouts, growth, refinancings and recapitalisations, investing sector-agnostically. Deals are typically $200mio+ though the team retains the flexibility to pursue smaller high-conviction opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting detailed business due diligence and evaluating opportunities to form a recommendation to senior members of the team
  • Building financial models and undertaking detailed valuation analysis for new and existing investments
  • Negotiating documentation with counterparties
  • Preparing and presenting materials to the investment committee
  • Engaging directly with management teams and key stakeholders
  • Monitoring the portfolio and broader sector trends
The Ideal Candidate
  • 1-5 years' experience in direct investment (private credit, private equity or infrastructure) or in leveraged finance, M&A or direct investments at a top-tier investment bank
  • Excellent modelling and quantitative ability
  • Strong written and verbal communication, comfortable forming and presenting a view
  • Genuinely passionate about investing and eager to learn
  • Able to run multiple live processes at once, proactive with sound judgement
  • A team player with a strong work ethic
Why Apply?
  • High-quality, selective investing: no pressure to deploy capital, so the focus stays on the right deal, structure and return
  • Genuine access to decision-makers: direct exposure to senior local and global stakeholders, with investment views discussed early
  • Broad, meaningful deal work: sector-agnostic corporate and sponsor-backed lending, typically $200mio+ with flexibility for smaller opportunities
  • More deal-focused than private equity: limited operational portfolio burden, centred on underwriting a small number of high-conviction investments each year
  • Efficient, pragmatic culture: effort is matched to deal probability, not exhaustive materials for unlikely opportunities
  • A collaborative environment where junior views are welcomed and constructively debated, with clear senior accountability for final decisions
  • Strong market positioning: speed and execution certainty
