Job summary

Elevate is seeking a Senior Associate or Special Counsel in Brisbane to lead the Disputes & Investigations team. This role offers significant autonomy, direct client engagement, and progression in a cyber/privacy and digital risk‑focused practice.

You will handle complex disputes, investigations and strategic advisory matters, with hybrid work arrangements and close collaboration with a leading leadership team.

Qualifications

• Australian-qualified lawyer with 5+ years' PQE in litigation or related disputes.
• Experience in commercial or insurance litigation and complex disputes.
• Strong drafting, advocacy and dispute-resolution skills.
• Independently manage complex matters and litigation strategy.
• Experience advising on regulatory investigations or digital risk matters is valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex disputes, investigations and strategic advisory matters for diverse clients.
• Own litigation strategy from start to resolution with senior leadership input.
• Oversee regulatory investigations, enforcement matters and data privacy issues.
• Advise on tech E&O, cyber incidents and emerging digital risk disputes.
• Develop client relationships and manage expectations across matters.
• Provide clear and practical guidance to clients during crises.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and external counsel.

Elevate has partnered with a leading specialist law firm operating at the forefront of cyber, privacy, technology risk, regulatory investigations and complex disputes.

For catering the continued growth, we are seeking a talented Senior Associate or Special Counsel to join the Disputes & Investigations team. This is an opportunity to work on cutting‑edge matters involving digital risk, data incidents, regulatory scrutiny and emerging technology‑related disputes, while enjoying significant autonomy, direct client engagement and clear progression opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Working closely with a highly regarded leadership team, you will take ownership of complex disputes, investigations and strategic advisory matters across a diverse client base. Key areas of work include:

• Commercial and complex litigation.
• Insurance and professional indemnity disputes.
• Regulatory investigations and enforcement matters.
• Technology Errors & Omissions (Tech E&O) claims.
• Data breach litigation and privacy complaints.
• Class actions and emerging digital sector disputes.
• Risk and crisis response matters arising from cyber incidents.

About You

We are looking for an Australian-qualified lawyer with 5+ years' PQE and:

• Strong experience in commercial litigation, insurance litigation, or a combination of both.
• Proven ability to independently manage complex matters and litigation strategy.
• Excellent drafting, advocacy and dispute resolution skills.
• Strong commercial judgement and client relationship management capabilities.
• Experience advising on regulatory investigations, professional indemnity, financial lines or complex disputes will be highly regarded.
• Curiosity and enthusiasm for the evolving areas of cyber, privacy, technology and digital risk .
