Job summary

Commonwealth Bank in Sydney is seeking a Senior Associate in Agency Operations to provide senior‑level loan administration, approval and deal support for a portfolio of institutional and corporate clients.

You will act as Facility Agent, coordinating between borrowers and syndicate lenders, reviewing complex Loan IQ transactions, ensuring proper authorization and controls, and resolving system issues with Technology and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve new deals, facilities, drawdowns, rollovers, rate settings, repayments, fees and amendments.

• Provide end-to-end support across syndicated loans, guarantees and US Private Placements.
• Identify, investigate and resolve Loan IQ system, configuration and processing issues.
• Perform root-cause analysis and coordinate with Technology/vendors for timely resolutions.
• Support Loan IQ upgrades, configuration changes, testing and implementation.
• Provide escalation support and technical guidance to loan admins and team members.
• Identify process improvements and system enhancements.

Senior Associate Global Lending And Leasing

As a Senior Associate in Agency Operations, you will provide senior-level loan administration, approval and deal support for a portfolio of institutional and corporate clients.

Acting as Facility Agent, you will manage interactions between borrowers and syndicate lenders across instructions, communications and payments. You will be responsible for reviewing and approving complex Loan IQ transactions, ensuring they are accurate, appropriately authorised and consistent with facility documentation and operational controls.

You will also act as a Loan IQ subject-matter expert, providing technical troubleshooting and resolving complex system and processing issues in partnership with Technology, vendors and internal stakeholders.

On any given day, you will

• Review and approve new deals, facilities, drawdowns, rollovers, rate settings, repayments, fees, amendments and restructures in Loan IQ.
• Validate transactions against facility agreements, client instructions, delegated authorities and operational controls.
• Approve high-value domestic and foreign currency payments, including SWIFT and RTGS payments.
• Provide end-to-end support across syndicated loans, guarantees and US Private Placements.
• Identify, investigate and resolve complex Loan IQ system, configuration and processing issues.
• Perform root-cause analysis and work with Technology and vendors to deliver timely resolution of system incidents.
• Support Loan IQ upgrades, configuration changes, testing and implementation activities.
• Provide escalation support and technical guidance to loan administrators and other team members.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls and system functionality.
• Coach and develop colleagues through practical guidance, training and knowledge sharing.
• Coordinate complex amendments and instructions across borrowers, lenders, relationship managers and internal stakeholders.

We’re interested in hearing from people who have

You will be an experienced Corporate or Institutional Lending professional with demonstrated capability as an approver or senior checker within syndicated or bilateral lending operations.

You will bring:

• At least 10 years’ hands-on experience using Loan IQ within lending or agency operations.
• Demonstrated experience reviewing and approving complex Loan IQ transactions.
• Strong knowledge of syndicated and bilateral loans, guarantees and letters of credit.
• Experience approving new deals, facilities, amendments, drawdowns, rollovers, rate settings, repayments, interest and fees.
• Strong technical troubleshooting capability, including the ability to diagnose Loan IQ system, configuration and processing issues.
• Experience working with Technology teams and external vendors to resolve incidents and deliver system improvements.
• Experience with Loan IQ testing, upgrades, configuration or implementation activities.
• Strong understanding of SWIFT, RTGS and high-value domestic and foreign currency payments.
• The ability to interpret complex facility agreements and translate their requirements into accurate operational processing.
• A strong risk and control mindset, with close attention to transaction accuracy, delegated authorities and timely settlement.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.The confidence to provide technical guidance, manage escalations and coach less-experienced team members.
• Strong stakeholder management skills across clients, lenders, Technology teams, vendors and internal business partners.
• The ability to work autonomously and make sound operational decisions within established authorities.

Loan IQ certification and a process improvement qualification, such as Six Sigma, would be highly regarded.
