Job summary

DMA Engineers Pty Ltd in Spring Hill, Brisbane, invites a Senior/Associate Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design across building services projects. You’ll work with our electrical team and broader group to drive delivery from concept through to completion.

You’ll mentor engineers, coordinate disciplines, and liaise with clients and authorities, ensuring designs comply with Australian Standards and NCC. This is a pathway to leadership within a people-focused firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• 7+ years’ experience in electrical services design within building services.
• RPEQ registration or working towards accreditation.
• Strong knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, NCC requirements, and electrical building services design principles.
• Strong experience in design and documentation of electrical systems for buildings (power, lighting, comms, security, dry fire).
• Demonstrated experience leading projects and coordinating multidisciplinary design inputs.

The Role

As a Senior/Associate Electrical Engineer, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality electrical design solutions across a diverse range of building services projects. Based in our Spring Hill office, you’ll work closely with our electrical team and wider building services group to lead project outcomes from concept through to completion.

You’ll lead technical delivery, guide design documentation, coordinate with other disciplines, and build strong client relationships through clear communication and practical, well-considered advice.

This role is ideal for an experienced electrical building services engineer ready to step into a senior position, support team development, and help shape the continued growth of our electrical capability.

What You’ll Be Doing

Leading electrical services design across a wide range of building services projects

Overseeing documentation, design calculations, drawings, and schedules

Reviewing design outputs and supporting quality assurance across project deliverables

Mentoring engineers and designers within the electrical team

Coordinating with internal disciplines including mechanical, hydraulic, fire, and structural

Liaising with clients, architects, contractors, authorities, and external stakeholders

Supporting project planning, resourcing, fee input, and delivery strategy

Ensuring designs comply with relevant Australian Standards and the National Construction Code

Contributing to client relationships, business development, and the growth of the electrical team

What You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification

7+ years’ experience in electrical services design within building services

RPEQ registration or working towards accreditation

Strong knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, NCC requirements, and electrical building services design principles

Strong experience in design and documentation of electrical systems for buildings (power, lighting, comms, security, dry fire)

Demonstrated experience leading projects and coordinating multidisciplinary design inputs

Ability to guide and support junior and intermediate team members

Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and BIM environments

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence liaising directly with clients and project stakeholders

A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong commercial awareness
