Job summary

A leading Australian fintech lender is seeking an Associate Director for Commercial Credit in Sydney or Melbourne. You will be the senior credit specialist across commercial property lending, responsible for assessing and deciding a steady flow of complex transactions.

Reporting to the Head of Risk, you will help establish credit frameworks, contribute to lending policy, and shape the growth of the commercial credit function while remaining hands-on with deal decisions.

Qualifications

• Senior commercial credit experience with property lending exposure.
• Proven ability to make credit decisions within delegated authority.
• Experience assessing complex borrower structures including trusts and SMSFs.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end assessment and decisioning of complex commercial property lending transactions.
• Structure and approve higher-value deals under delegated lending authority.
• Assess borrower structures, serviceability, security and credit risk.
• Collaborate with brokers and sales on deal structure and conditions.
• Act as senior escalation point on complex transactions.
• Provide input into commercial credit policy and risk settings.
• Help uplift capability across the credit function.
• Support growth of the commercial lending team as volumes increase.
