Job summary

A leading professional services consultancy in Canberra is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to drive the delivery of Defence-related projects. Candidates should possess strong project delivery capabilities and outstanding communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a current NV1 security clearance and relevant engineering or project management qualifications.

The opportunity

We have a requirement for an experienced Senior Project Manager with One Defence Capability System experience to join our team in Canberra. Working amongst a team of motivated, knowledgeable and collaborative professionals, you will step into an open and supportive culture that values the skills that you can contribute to the group, while offering you autonomy to deliver a broad range of projects.

Key Responsibilities Will Include

• Working within a project team to drive the delivery of multiple and diverse projects to ensure quality, time and cost outcomes are achieved.
• Building and maintaining effective client and stakeholder relationships.
• Be a subject matter expert relating to the Defence acquisition process and related policy.

These roles will be part of a Beca project team that is co-located with our client, in their offices. What is important is that you will bring a tenacious attitude and have alignment with our company purpose to “Make Everyday Better”.

About You

You will be seeking fulfilment in autonomy, career growth and working for a business that can provide purpose and relevance in what you do. With proven project delivery capability combined with outstanding communication skills and the ability to influence and drive successful project outcomes for the business and our valuable clients. Ideally you will have gained experience working in a consulting environment delivering Defence-related projects as part of a multi-disciplinary and multi-office project team.

We Are Seeking Candidates That Possess The Following

• Experience working in a Senior Project Management role, preferably within the Defence acquisition space.
• Knowledge (PMBOK) and its application, the Defence project management environment (and Defence methodologies), and PM2.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders.
• Relevant or related engineering and/or project management qualification including accreditation with a recognised professional body.
• A current Australian Government security clearance at NV1 level or higher and be eligible to access information subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

While not essential, candidates will be highly regarded if they possess the following:

• Led projects within NSSG, CASG and/or RAN.
• Exposure to requirements definition and the management of procurement activities.
