Job summary

CommBank is seeking a skilled professional to join its Active Portfolio Management team in Sydney. The role focuses on analysing, structuring and executing a broad range of transactions to optimise risk and return on capital across the portfolio.

You will engage in loan sales and purchases, risk participations and credit insurance transactions, collaborating closely with Coverage, Risk, Finance, Legal and external market participants to drive value and deepen institutional banking expertise.

Qualifications

• Experience in Coverage, Credit Risk, Loan Product, Credit Portfolio Management or similar institutional banking roles
• Financial modelling and Excel capability
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• An inquisitive mindset and the ability to learn quickly
• Knowledge of institutional lending, risk management or capital management concepts

This is a unique opportunity for someone from Coverage, Credit Risk, Loan Product or a similar institutional banking background who is looking to deepen their transaction experience and build technical capability in a highly visible team.

What you'll do:

You'll support the active management of IB&M's portfolio from both a risk and return on capital perspective by analysing, structuring and executing a variety of transactions. These may include:

Loan sales and purchases

Risk participations

Credit insurance transactions

Structured risk distribution activities

You'll be involved throughout the transaction lifecycle, from financial modelling and analysis through to execution and ongoing management, while working closely with Coverage, Risk, Finance, Legal and external market participants.

We're interested in hearing from people who have:

Experience in Coverage, Credit Risk, Loan Product, Credit Portfolio Management or similar institutional banking roles

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Financial modelling and Excel capability

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

An inquisitive mindset and the ability to learn quickly

Knowledge of institutional lending, risk management or capital management concepts.
