Job summary

Commonwealth Bank is seeking a candidate to broaden their institutional banking experience within the Active Portfolio Management team in Sydney. The role offers exposure to a broad range of transactions, industries and stakeholders while developing specialist expertise in risk distribution and portfolio management.

You’ll analyse, structure and execute transactions across loan sales, risk participations, credit insurance, and structured risk distribution.

Qualifications

• Experience in Coverage, Credit Risk, Loan Product or similar institutional banking roles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Financial modelling and Excel capability.

Looking to broaden your institutional banking experience?

Join our Active Portfolio Management team and gain exposure to a broad range of transactions, industries and stakeholders while developing specialist expertise in risk distribution, portfolio management and credit insurance.

This is a unique opportunity for someone from Coverage, Credit Risk, Loan Product or a similar institutional banking background who is looking to deepen their transaction experience and build technical capability in a highly visible team.

What you’ll do:

You’ll support the active management of IB&M’s portfolio from both a risk and return on capital perspective by analysing, structuring and executing a variety of transactions. These may include:

• Loan sales and purchases
• Risk participations
• Credit insurance transactions
• Structured risk distribution activities

You’ll be involved throughout the transaction lifecycle, from financial modelling and analysis through to execution and ongoing management, while working closely with Coverage, Risk, Finance, Legal and external market participants.

We’re interested in hearing from people who have:

• Experience in Coverage, Credit Risk, Loan Product, Credit Portfolio Management or similar institutional banking roles
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Financial modelling and Excel capability
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• An inquisitive mindset and the ability to learn quickly
• Knowledge of institutional lending, risk management or capital management concepts.
