Job summary

Bechtel is seeking an experienced Architect to plan, develop, and coordinate architectural work on large mining projects in Brisbane, with optional part-time telework and three days in-office per week.

The role involves reviewing design documents, coordinating with civil, structural, and PD&P teams, and ensuring compliance with Australian standards and NCC. Strong CAD skills (MicroStation) and project coordination are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in architecture or related field.
• 8–14 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in heavy mining/industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of Australian standards and NCC.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of non-process architectural scope across study, FEED, design, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
• Review contractor submissions and ITP documentation for quality and compliance.
• Provide guidance on constructability, durability, and maintainability of non-process facilities.
• Coordinate interfaces with structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, PD&P, and fire protection.
• Respond to RFIs with practical, technically sound guidance.
• Ensure compliance with NCC, Australian Standards, and project HSEC obligations.
• Prepare original designs, layouts, drawings, and specifications for complex infrastructure.
• Assist with cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and change orders.
• Draft correspondence to vendors and clients.
• Coordinate activities with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors.
