Job summary

Jacobs in Melbourne is seeking a Senior Archaeologist / Senior Heritage Advisor to lead heritage reports and assessments across major projects. You will mentor junior staff, contribute to portfolios and proposals, and work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver heritage outcomes.

You will bring around 7+ years of consultancy experience in Aboriginal heritage with strong knowledge of Victorian and Commonwealth heritage laws, and demonstrate excellent technical writing and stakeholder

Qualifications

• Honours or postgraduate degree in archaeology, heritage management, or a related discipline.
• Around 7+ years’ consulting experience, with focus on Aboriginal heritage in Victoria; other heritage experience is valuable.
• Strong knowledge of State and Commonwealth heritage legislation, regulations and guidelines.
• Experience leading medium to large Cultural Heritage Management Plans (CHMPs).
• Excellent technical writing and reporting skills; strong site analysis and lithic artefact identification abilities.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of preparation of heritage reports and assessments (complex deliverables with senior support).
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior staff; learn from senior team members.
• Contribute to and lead project portfolios and proposal development for key clients.
• Foster a collaborative, knowledge-sharing environment within multidisciplinary teams.
