Job summary

Charter Diligence is engaged to place an Applications Tester for a major NSW Government digital program. You will drive testing across the software development lifecycle to ensure releases meet functional and technical expectations, working with project teams and stakeholders.

Location is Parramatta with hybrid arrangement (1–2 days in the office). Start ASAP, contract 12 months with potential extension; daily rate 800–850 AUD plus super.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' commercial software testing experience.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and QA methodologies.
• Experience with functional, integration, regression, UAT and end-to-end testing.
• Proven ability to develop test plans, cases and scripts.
• Defect management experience using Jira or similar.
• Experience with Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test cases and test scripts.
• Perform functional, system integration, regression, user acceptance and end-to-end testing activities.
• Validate application functionality following enhancements, upgrades and system changes.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts and project managers to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate User Acceptance Testing activities with business representatives and subject matter experts.
• Identify, record, prioritise and monitor software defects through to successful resolution.
• Produce clear testing documentation, reports and quality metrics for project stakeholders.
• Verify data migration outcomes, ETL processes and data integrity across multiple environments.
• Support release planning, deployment validation and production readiness activities.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist in maintaining test environments and test data where required.
• Execute automated testing activities where appropriate and identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency.
• Ensure testing activities comply with established quality assurance frameworks and organisational standards.
• Communicate testing progress, risks, issues and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement of testing processes across the broader technology team.
