The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research in Melbourne seeks an Animal Technician to support the Biosciences Department. You will care for mice, manage breeding, maintain cages and records, and assist researchers with tissue removal and injections.

Job TitleAnimal TechnicianJob DescriptionAn excellent opportunity is available for an Animal Technician to join the Biosciences Department at Australia’s pre-eminent biomedical research institute.About the PositionThe Animal Technician will undertake tasks associated with the care, husbandry and maintenance of genetically manipulated mice in the facility. Tasks include mouse husbandry, breeding, cleaning of cages and equipment and record keeping. Observational skills must be particularly attuned to the health and welfare of the animals under their care.
