Job description

What will your typical day look like?

As a senior-in-charge on audit engagements, you'll lead key and complex audit areas from planning through to completion. That means coordinating workflows, reviewing work, managing risks, and helping ensure quality outcomes are delivered on time and in line with methodology and regulatory requirements.

Your work will put you close to clients and the issues that matter to them. You'll lead discussions, build trusted relationships, and bring a thoughtful lens to risk, controls, and reporting - offering insights that go beyond the audit itself.

Along the way, you'll work closely with junior team members, managers, and specialists from across Deloitte. The role offers a strong mix of coaching, problem-solving, and continuous improvement, with the variety that comes from supporting clients across different industries and stages of growth.

About the team

Our Global and Private Audit team works with multinational organisations, ASX-listed organisations, large private businesses and high net worth individuals across Australia, delivering audit and assurance services that help clients navigate complexity with confidence. It's a team that offers broad exposure across core financial audit, IPO readiness and M&A advisory, so you'll have the chance to build strong foundations while developing a well-rounded view of the client landscape. You'll also work alongside specialists from across Deloitte, giving you access to different perspectives, deep expertise and meaningful opportunities to grow.

Enough about us, let's talk about you

You may have all or some of the following skills/experiences:

  • - 3+ years' experience in external audit, ideally in a Big 4 environment
  • - Possess a bachelor's degree or above in accounting/commerce or a related field
  • - CA qualification, or equivalent
  • - Experience leading engagements as a senior-in-charge
  • - Strong capability across complex or higher-risk audit areas
  • - Advanced understanding of audit methodology and regulatory standards
  • - Proven ability to coach, support, and develop junior team members
  • - Strong stakeholder and client relationship management skills
  • - Excellent communication and project management capability
