Job summary

McGrathNicol in Perth seeks a Senior Analyst or Assistant Manager to join the Deals team, supporting private and public company transactions across the full lifecycle. You will conduct financial and strategic analysis, build models, and prepare client materials to a high professional standard.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years in corporate finance or related fields, strong analytical skills, and a genuine interest in M&A and corporate advisory.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years' experience in Corporate Finance, M&A, Transaction Services, Valuations, Corporate Development, Investment Banking or related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial and commercial information accurately.
  • Sound commercial judgement and a genuine interest in business, transactions and corporate advisory work.
  • Highly motivated, proactive and eager to develop technical and client-facing skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • CA, CFA or equivalent qualification (strongly preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of M&A transactions across the full lifecycle, including marketing materials, financial analysis, due diligence and execution.
  • Conduct financial, commercial and strategic analysis to support client advice and value drivers.
  • Prepare financial models and valuation analyses to assess targets and opportunities.
  • Assist in preparing client deliverables, memoranda, management presentations and board papers.
  • Collaborate with clients, senior team members and external advisers to ensure timely delivery of key workstreams.

The Opportunity

Our Deals team provides corporate, private equity and banking clients with high quality, independent, and objective M&A transaction advice. As part of our continued investment in building out our national Deals & Performance team, we are seeking a Senior Analyst or Assistant Manager to join our Perth M&A team, supporting private and public companies to navigate complex transaction environments and unlock value for shareholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of M&A transactions across the full transaction lifecycle, including preparation of marketing materials, financial analysis, buyer/investor engagement, due diligence, and transaction execution.
  • Conduct financial, commercial and strategic analysis to support client advice, including business performance assessment, industry and market research, and key value driver analysis.
  • Prepare financial models and valuation analyses to assess acquisition targets, business opportunities and strategic alternatives.
  • Assist in the preparation of client deliverables, information memoranda, management presentations, financial models and board papers to a high professional standard.
  • Work closely with clients, senior team members and external advisers to support transaction processes and ensure timely delivery of key workstreams.
About You
  • 2-5 years' experience in Corporate Finance, M&A, Transaction Services, Valuations, Corporate Development, Investment Banking or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial and commercial information accurately and draw meaningful insights.
  • Sound commercial judgement and a genuine interest in business, transactions and corporate advisory work.
