Job summary

Victoria Police is seeking an analyst to work within the road safety and policing landscape, integrating data, intelligence, information and research from multiple sources to assess trends and risks.

You will support the Tasking and Coordination Unit, collaborate with frontline police, intelligence practitioners and partner agencies, and lead proactive scanning to shape intelligence functions in a changing environment.

Qualifications

• The successful applicant is required to complete modules of a Victoria Police approved Intelligence Program relevant to the role and qualify within 18 months from enrolment.
• Drives innovation and continuous improvement by identifying better ways of working, sharing ideas and improving processes.
• Supports capability development by applying expertise, collaborating with others and promoting effective use of data and analytical tools.

• Support the deployment of centralised road policing resources as part of the Tasking and Coordination Unit.

• Help shape the intelligence and analytical functions amid the changing road safety and policing landscape.
• Contribute to the Unit's proactive scanning program, leading development of priority road policing portfolios and monitoring the road policing environment.

Key responsibilities

• As the successful applicant, you will be working as part of the team supporting the Tasking and Coordination Unit to support the deployment of centralised road policing resources.
• As the successful applicant, you will be working closely with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, including frontline police members, intelligence practitioners and road safety partner agencies.

• Contribute to the Unit's proactive scanning program, through leading the development of priority road policing portfolios, and proactively monitoring the road policing environment to maintain situational awareness.
