Job summary

Westpac AI Services is seeking a hands-on technical leader to drive a major Financial Crime Protection intelligence solution. You will bring domain-SME experience and oversee end-to-end product delivery across data, APIs, AI services and review experiences.

You will set solution directions while ensuring design, code, testing and production support stay aligned, with strong emphasis on traceability, governance and human decision boundaries.

Qualifications

• Deep Financial Crime Protection domain-SME experience.
• Expert full-stack engineering across backend services, APIs, data stores and modern web applications.
• Strong AI service engineering across ML signals, LLMs, RAG, agents, prompt and model evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Lead a major Financial Crime Protection intelligence solution from intent through design, build, verification, release and operation.
• Translate complex fraud, AML and protection needs into production-ready outcomes.
• Set boundaries between signals, investigation, human decisions and other systems.
• Create traceable contracts across source data, events, entities, facts, signals and models.
• Ensure information is complete, accurate and reportable.
• Lead versioned and reversible releases for data contracts, models, APIs and workflows.
