nbn is seeking a Senior Advisor to advance safety, environment and wellbeing across a large, complex organisation. You will provide practical guidance to leaders, employees, and regulators, shaping safety culture and governance.

Your role includes incident and risk management, reporting, and continuous improvement. You will collaborate with stakeholders, deliver coaching, and drive solutions that protect people and the environment while supporting business objectives.

Qualifications

  • Experience in safety, wellbeing and/or HR within a large and complex organisation.
  • Degree or Diploma in a relevant discipline; qualifications in Safety and Wellbeing, HR or related field.
  • Employee engagement, training development and human-centred approaches.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Support risk management and governance of Safety, Environment and Wellbeing programs.
  • Provide practical advice on health, safety, wellbeing, and environmental practices.
  • Coaching and guidance to enable compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting for assurance and due diligence.
  • Collaborate with leaders, workforce, regulators and suppliers to improve safety outcomes.

A fantastic opportunity has presented itself for a Senior Advisor Safety, Environment and Wellbeing reporting to Executive Manager Safety, Environment and Wellbeing.

A bit about your role

As the Senior Advisor Safety, Environment and Wellbeing, you will be supporting nbn’s commitment to creating a positive and proactive safety culture. Working collaboratively with business leaders, employees, field workforce, regulators and suppliers, you will provide practical advice and guidance on health, safety, wellbeing and environmental practices, helping teams navigate regulatory requirements and align with nbn’s policies, standards and expectations.

You will contribute to risk management and continuous improvement of Safety, Environment and Wellbeing programs, governance processes and communication initiatives. You will maintain accurate records and reporting processes that support compliance, assurance and continuous improvement, while providing coaching and guidance that enables the business to confidently meet its obligations and enhance overall safety, environmental and wellbeing performance.

In this role, you will support and verify incident, hazard and risk management activities from initial notification through to closure are in line with systems and expectations, helping to ensure effective investigations, reporting and implementation of preventative actions occurs. Working with the business to see improvement and innovation.

A bit about you

You have experience in safety, wellbeing and/or human resources within a large and complex organisation and bring a strong understanding of contemporary safety practices and a passion for creating environments where people can thrive. Ideally, you hold a degree or Diploma in a relevant discipline, supported by qualifications in Safety and Wellbeing, Human Resources or a related field. Drawing on your experience in employee engagement, training development and human-centred approaches, you take a thoughtful and practical approach to problem-solving.

You are a collaborative professional who builds rapport and credibility with ease. Your strong communication skills allow you to engage, influence and support a diverse range of stakeholders. You are highly organised and comfortable managing competing priorities in a dynamic environment. Most importantly, you are motivated by purpose and enjoy working alongside others to create safer, healthier and more sustainable outcomes for people, communities and the business.
