Elanco Australia is seeking a Senior Advisor, External Innovation to enrich our R&D pipeline by engaging external innovators, biotech startups, academia, and partners. You will identify, evaluate, and craft proposals for new assets, collaborating with R&D, Legal, and Regulatory teams to advance opportunities.

You will lead cross-functional assessments, design experiments to validate opportunities, and manage alliance negotiations. Travel ~20–30% is expected.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or PhD in a relevant biological field.
• 7+ years of experience in animal health research, development, or a related business development field.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence senior leadership and external partners.

Responsabilités

• Map and assess innovation opportunities from biotech startups, universities, and industry partners.
• Lead cross-functional technical assessments with R&D, Marketing, Legal, and Business Development to ensure timely evaluations.
• Collaborate with internal teams to design experiments validating external opportunities and support de-risking strategies.
• Manage partner interactions and negotiations throughout alliance development.
• Monitor external landscape and engage in conferences to identify new assets and provide go/no-go recommendations.
• Maintain relationships with grant funding agencies and external R&D partners; represent Elanco R&D externally.
