Job summary

Insurance and Care NSW (icare) is seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst in Sydney CBD on a 12-month contract. You will join a high-performing actuarial team delivering insights to support financial decisions and improve outcomes for NSW communities.

You’ll work within Australia’s largest workers compensation actuarial team, handling diverse challenges, mentoring juniors, and contributing to projects that enhance performance while benefiting from flexible, hybrid working arrangements.

Qualifications

• Experience in actuarial analysis within general insurance or related environment.
• Strong analytical and modelling skills with ability to interpret complex data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes on time.
• Progress towards actuarial qualifications (or pursuing) will be viewed favourably.

Responsibilities

• Deliver actuarial and analytical insights that support sound financial and business decisions.
• Perform complex data analysis, modelling and interpretation to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
• Contribute to key projects that enhance understanding of business performance.
• Present analytical findings and recommendations to stakeholders clearly.
• Monitor and report on business performance to drive continuous improvement.
• Support the development of junior team members through knowledge sharing and mentoring.
• Review existing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
