Senior Accountant – Tax & Business Services

We are an established boutique accounting and tax firm with an associated in-house financial planning entity, located in Melbourne’s Eastern suburbs.

The Role

You will independently manage your own established client portfolio, taking responsibility for the work and relationships from beginning to end.

Your responsibilities will include:

Managing an established portfolio of business, investment and individual high net wealth clients.

Preparing financial statements, income tax returns and related compliance work.

Providing tax planning, accounting and business advisory services.

Building and maintaining strong, long-term client relationships.

Communicating confidently and professionally with clients, understanding their needs and providing practical advice.

Liaising with the ATO, financial advisers and other professional advisers as required.

Managing deadlines, prioritising your workload and taking accountability for the quality and timeliness of your work.

About You

You will ideally have:

10+ years' experience in Australian public practice accounting.

Strong knowledge of Australian taxation, accounting and compliance.

Proven experience independently managing a portfolio of clients from start to finish.

Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

A mature, reliable and accountable approach to your work.

The ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines without close supervision.

A proactive attitude and a genuine commitment to delivering quality outcomes for clients.

A stable employment history demonstrating commitment and a desire to build long-term professional relationships.

Experience with cloud-based accounting software, including Xero, MYOB or Reckon.
