Job summary

Asia Capital Market Pty Ltd in Berwick, Victoria, is seeking an experienced senior accountant to own client work within a collaborative team environment. You will handle complex tax returns, financial statements, and payroll obligations, with a focus on accuracy and client service.

Successful candidates will have 4+ years Australian tax experience in public practice, CA/CPA near completion, and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset.

• 4+ years of relevant (Australian) tax experience in public practice.
• Completed or near completion CA/CPA qualifications (or equivalent) preferred
• Desire to learn and work collaboratively as an adaptable team member
• Confidence liaising with clients with easy to understand explanations of tax concepts
• Strong attention to detail and high aptitude for tax research
• Proactive in scheduling, planning and tracking your work flow and client list

Responsibilities

• Preparation of financial statements and tax returns for companies, trust, partnerships and individuals, including reconciling accounts and preparing detailed workpapers
• Preparation of SMSF financial statements and tax returns, and building workpaper files for audit, considered a bonus
• Preparation of activity statements
• Preparation of payroll including payday super, STP, workcover and other annual lodgements such as payroll tax, TPAR and FBT returns
• Data processing and bookkeeping with the ability to work with a range of bookkeeping, accounting and taxation lodgement programs
• Support and train other staff
• Liaising with clients to obtain information, draft responses to technical queries and maintain our relationship
• Liaise with the ATO and other regulatory bodies
• Support tax planning and business advisory
• Maintain your CPD with firm provided relevant training

We are an established accounting firm in central Berwick, Victoria, looking for an experienced and motivated accountant who will take ownership of client work in our collaborative team environment. A strong accounting and taxation knowledge is vital for this senior accountant position.
