Job summary

SEEK is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Record to Report function for a 12-month fixed-term opportunity. You will deliver accurate financial information and provide meaningful insights to support strategic decisions across SEEK.

You will partner with the Finance Business Partner to deliver monthly management reporting, drive process improvements, and provide commercial insights across the APAC region.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA designation or equivalent.
• Knowledge of IFRS and regulatory requirements.
• Experience preparing and accounting for P&L and balance sheets for a business unit.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to coach and guide junior accountants.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver reporting to the business with interpretation of actual results and drivers.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting and accounting treatment of costs.
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare and present financial reports with interpretation of results and implications.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards (IFRS).
• Maintain strong financial controls and record results per SEEK policies.
• Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and enhance efficiency.
• Collaborate across Finance teams to improve data capture, reconciliation, reporting and insights.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to R2R team goals.

About the Role

This is a 12-month fixed-term opportunity. As a Senior Accountant, you will be a key member of the Record to Report function at SEEK, playing an important role in delivering accurate financial information and meaningful insights that support strategic decision-making across the organisation.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will be responsible for analysing financial data, preparing reports, and working closely with cross-functional teams to drive financial performance. You will also partner directly with the Finance Business Partner to deliver monthly management reporting, identify process improvements, and provide commercial insights across SEEK's APAC region.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver reporting to the business, including clear interpretation of actual results, communication of drivers and implications for future financial performance.
• Work closely with stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting and accounting treatment of costs
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare and present financial reports to the business, including interpretation of actual results, communication of drivers and implications for future financial performance.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards.
• Deliver strong financial controls and record financial results in-line with SEEK Group accounting policies and IFRS
• Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Work collaboratively across Finance teams to continuously improve the speed and automation of financial data capture, reconciliation, reporting, analysis and insight generation
• Supervise, guide and mentor junior team members
• Be an active contributor, advocate and collaborator in the R2R team vision

Qualifications

• CA / CPA designation or equivalent
• Knowledge of relevant accounting standards and regulations.
• Experience in preparation and accountability for business unit P&Ls and balance sheets
• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities with an ability to interpret and communicate commercial insights to decision makers
• Ability to enhance business processes and information systems to optimise the capture of information
• An ability to manage large volumes of information and manipulate this through advanced Excel skills and data visualisation tools
• Strong interpersonal skills to build robust working relationships within a dynamic team environment
• Experience in coaching and guiding junior accountants within a team
• Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems).
• Ability to work autonomously and to tight deadlines
