Job summary

Mission Tax & Business Advisory is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to manage a client portfolio in Maroochydore, offering hybrid or remote work options. The role focuses on preparing financial statements, reviewing income tax returns, and delivering practical tax advice within a collaborative, growth-ready firm.

You will work with SMEs, family groups and high-net-worth clients, leveraging advisory exposure to support business planning and tax strategies while mentoring junior team

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in public practice accounting.
• Strong technical tax knowledge across companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals.
• Experience with GST, Capital Gains Tax, Division 7A and FBT.
• Strong client communication and relationship skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• Proactive mindset and desire to continually improve.
• CA or CPA qualification (or underway) is ideal but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and reviewing financial statements and income tax returns.
• Managing client relationships and responding to client queries.
• Delivering tax advice and practical solutions.
• Assisting with tax planning and business advisory projects.
• Identifying opportunities to improve client outcomes.
• Reviewing and supporting the work of junior team members.
• Managing workflow, deadlines and WIP effectively.
• Contributing to process improvements as the firm grows.
