Job summary

Sarina Russo Group in Brisbane is seeking a proactive Senior Accountant to join our Finance team in a hands-on role. The position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and covers accounting, management reporting, compliance and financial governance across multiple entities.

This full-time role is based in our Brisbane CBD office with regular on-site attendance. You will work closely with an experienced finance team to deliver accurate reporting, budgeting, forecasting and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• GST and BAS obligations knowledge required.
• Strong Excel, Word, Outlook proficiency.
• Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Collaborative approach and team orientation.
• Studying towards or holding CPA or CA qualification.

Responsibilities

• Oversee designated entity and business-unit accounting functions.
• Coordinate month-end and year-end accounting processes.
• Prepare and review management reports, reconciliations, budgets and forecasts.
• Support statutory, taxation, audit and contractual financial requirements.
• Monitor financial performance against budgets, forecasts and contractual expectations.
• Strengthen financial controls and promote continuous improvement.
• Partner with operational managers across services; provide guidance to Finance team.
• Provide technical guidance and support to Finance team members.

Sarina Russo Group is a proudly Australian, privately owned organisation established in 1979, delivering employment services, education, training, and allied health services nationally.We arelooking for a proactive and detail-driven Senior Accountant to join our Finance team in a varied and hands-on role.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Senior Accountant is responsible for providing high-quality financial accounting, management reporting, and compliance across the Group's education, training, employment, and allied health businesses.

This role plays a critical part in maintaining strong financial governance, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and supporting effective financial controls across multiple entities. The Senior Accountant provides valuable financial insight to management, supporting informed decision-making, operational performance, budgeting, forecasting, and the responsible management of Group resources.

Working closely with an experienced finance team, this position offers broad exposure to financial reporting, compliance, business partnering, and continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced and well-established organisation. This full-time position is based in our Brisbane CBD office and requires regular on-site attendance.

What You'll Be Doing

What We're Looking For

• Degree-qualified in Accounting, Commerce, Business or Finance, or a related discipline
• At least 2 years’ experience in a related accounting role
• Knowledge of GST and BAS obligations
• Experience in a structured finance environment with exposure to compliance and regulatory requirements
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and a collaborative approach
• Currently studying towards or holding a CPA or CA qualification (or equivalent)
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP(Great Plains) (desirable)
