Hi there, thanks for stopping by. We're glad to have gotten your attention, but we'll be thrilled when you apply. We're eager to find someone who is passionate about what they do, and is excited for a new journey with our fantastic firm.

About Carbon.

We’re not your average professional services firm. Since 2014, Carbon has been shaking up the industry by lifting the standard of service for small and medium businesses. We bring all core business services together in one place – from accounting and bookkeeping to finance, insurance and more – so our clients can focus on what they do best.

What it means to be a Carbonite.

Our Carbonites are our greatest asset. We’ve grown from a team of 13 in one Perth office to 300+ people across multiple states, and we’re still expanding – that’s where you come in. We focus on helping our people learn, grow and develop their careers in the direction they choose.

About the role.

Carbon provides exceptional service to our clients, and our Senior Accountants are at the forefront of this. You’ll be communicating with clients daily, as well as applying your skills and experience to solve their problems and elevate their business.

Varied accounting experience is vital (particularly experience in public practice in Australia), as are strong communication and time management skills. In a single day you’ll be juggling multiple balls, but you will always have the support of our high performing team behind you.

Job Requirements

We're looking for someone with:

  • A tertiary qualification in accounting and either completed or working towards your CA or CPA.
  • Solid experience in an Australian accounting firm, preparing financial statements and tax returns.
  • Confidence working directly with clients and enjoys building relationships.
  • Strong working knowledge of Xero/XPM and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to explain complex things simply, whether in writing or over the phone.
  • A team mindset and experience collaborating with both local and offshore teams.
  • Above all, an energetic, positive outlook and a genuine passion for what you do.

You’ll be perfect for the role if:

  • You love a bit of team banter and activities
  • You want to be part of the coolest firm in Australia
  • You’re keen to join a company that encourage you to define your own career path

Job Responsibilities

  • Client management and liaison.
  • Manage 1-2 offshore team members once you're settled in the role.
  • Preparing financial statements and tax returns for individuals, and small to medium businesses.
  • Creating and advising on various trading structures.
  • Preparing Business Activity Statements (BAS).
  • Liaising with the ATO.
  • Business budgeting and cash flow management.
  • Business benchmarking.
  • Additional ad hoc tasks.

Job Benefits

  • Join a growing business in a role that can grow with you.
  • Genuine support for learning and development you’re actually interested in.
  • Hybrid working once you’re up and running.
  • Regular social events for a range of interests.
  • Perks like monthly massages and a benefits platform to save on everyday shopping.
