Michael Page Australia is recruiting a Senior Accountant for a Melbourne-based, hybrid role. You will report to the Financial Controller and contribute to monthly management accounts, balance sheet control, statutory reporting and audits.

You will also assist with budgeting, forecasting and ad hoc modelling to support business decisions, while partnering with operations to provide clear financial insights. The role offers strong progression, a high-calibre finance function, and a pathway to lead

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualification required.
• Big 4 or mid-tier audit or business services experience is highly regarded.
• Proven senior accounting or financial accounting experience in a commercial environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to manage competing priorities.

Job Description

The Senior Accountant will report to the Financial Controller, contributing to the following:

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and maintain general ledger integrity.
• Assist with statutory reporting, tax compliance and external audit requirements.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Drive process improvement and strengthen financial controls across the finance function.
• Assist the FP&A Manager with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and ad hoc financial modelling to support business performance and strategic decision-making.
• Partner with operational stakeholders to provide financial insight and reporting support.

The Successful Applicant

• CA or CPA qualified
• Big 4 or mid-tier professional services experience across Audit or Business Services is highly regarded.
• Proven experience in a Senior Accountant, Financial Accountant or similar role within a commercial environment.
• Ability to build effective working relationships across Finance and the broader business.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
