Job summary

MW Recruitment on the Gold Coast seeks a senior accountant to lead diverse client engagements in business advisory, tax, financial reporting and cloud accounting.

You will review financial statements and tax returns, provide high-level commentary, and mentor junior staff, with a focus on commercial thinking and accurate analysis.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in Australian public practice with a client-facing approach.
• Tertiary qualification in accounting or commerce.
• CA/CPA completed or currently underway.
• Strong attention to detail and solid organisational habits.
• Collaborative mindset and enjoyment of teamwork.
• Ambition to grow within the role and business.

Responsibilities

• Review and finalise financial statements and tax returns across entities.
• Manage complex tax matters including Div 7A, CGT, FBT and restructuring strategies.
• Deliver proactive business and tax advisory services to help clients reach goals.
• Review, delegate and provide constructive feedback on work by juniors.
• Mentor and support colleagues in technical and professional development.

The Role:

• Review and finalise financial statements and tax returns across a broad range of entities (companies, trusts, partnerships and sole traders)
• Manage complex tax matters including Div 7A, CGT, FBT and restructuring strategies
• Deliver proactive business and tax advisory services that help clients reach their goals
• Review, delegate and provide constructive feedback on work prepared by junior team members
• Mentor and support colleagues in both their technical and professional development

A little bit about you:

• 3+ years' experience within an Australian public practice firm, with a confident client-facing approach
• Tertiary qualification in accounting or commerce
• CA/CPA completed or currently underway
• Strong attention to detail with solid organisational habits
• A collaborative mindset and genuine enjoyment of working within a team
