Nexus Group is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Adelaide team. The role leads financial reporting, strengthens controls and partners with operational teams across our multi-entity group.

Ideal for a technically strong accountant ready to step up and influence business outcomes. Key duties include monthly statements and management reports, month-end processes, audit-ready workpapers, budgeting and forecasting, and ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards.

Qualificações

• Must have strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of Australian Accounting Standards.
• Advanced Excel and ERP experience (MYOB and IPM).
• Strong communication, analysis and stakeholder engagement.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Manage month-end processes including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations.
• Ensure accurate, timely financial transactions and strong controls.
• Partner with operational teams to provide financial insights and support business decisions.
• Prepare audit-ready workpapers and ensure compliance with standards.
• Lead budgeting and forecast activities with key stakeholders.

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Adelaide team. This role leads financial reporting, strengthens controls and partners with operational teams across our multi-entity group. Ideal for a technically strong accountant ready to step up and influence business outcomes.

• Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports for decision-making.
• Manage month-end processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations.
• Ensure accurate, timely financial transactions and strong financial controls.
• Partner with operational teams to provide financial insights and support business decisions.
• Prepare audit-ready workpapers and ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
• Analyse budget and forecast variances, identifying risks and improvement opportunities.
• Lead annual budgeting and support forecasting with key stakeholders.
• Review expenditure for accurate coding, classification, and accruals.
• Maintain the Fixed Asset Register, including depreciation, additions, and disposals.
• Ensure capital expenditure complies with Australian Accounting Standards.
• Improve finance processes through stronger controls, automation, and digital solutions.
• 5 years’ experience in a multi-entity or complex environment
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and a sound understanding of Australian Accounting Standards.
• Advanced Excel + ERP experience (MYOB and IPM)
• Strong communication, analysis and stakeholder engagement
• Proactive, detail-focused and improvement-driven
• Exposure to diverse civil, mechanical and infrastructure operations
