Job summary

NSW Department of Communities and Justice – Parramatta NSW seeks an Aboriginal Senior Policy and Project Officer for the Therapeutic Pathways program. The role focuses on developing and supporting innovative policies and programs to reduce Aboriginal young people’s overrepresentation in the criminal justice system.

You will provide specialist policy advice, lead projects, and collaborate with key stakeholders including the Department of Premier and Cabinet and NGOs to deliver statewide policy

Qualifications

• Experience providing high‑level policy advice and briefs.
• Knowledge of Aboriginal communities and related policy issues.
• Ability to liaise with government and non‑government partners to implement programs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage and implement research and evaluation projects for Aboriginal Pathways programs.
• Provide high‑level policy advice and contribute to state‑wide policy frameworks.
• Liaise with stakeholders in development of criminal justice policies for NSW.
• Maintain liaison with community, government and NGO sectors for collaboration.
• Provide secretariat support to interagency committees as required.
• Support tender processes and contract management for services.
• Contribute to monitoring and evaluation framework development.
