Job summary

NSW Department of Communities and Justice in Parramatta, NSW, seeks an Aboriginal Senior Policy & Project Officer to lead policy development and innovative programs aimed at reducing Aboriginal youth overrepresentation in the criminal justice system. Role emphasizes high-level policy advice, stakeholder engagement, and project leadership within Therapeutic Pathways initiatives.

Qualifications

• Excellent knowledge of the NSW criminal justice system, specifically Aboriginal children and young people.
• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as social work, law, psychology, sociology or criminology, or equivalent level experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage and implement research, program reform, innovation and evaluation projects.
• Provide high-level policy advice and contribute to state-wide policy frameworks.
• Liaise with stakeholders in development of criminal justice policies and programs in NSW.
• Maintain liaison with community, government and non-government sectors for collaboration.
• Provide secretariat to interagency committees and groups as required.
• Support tender processes and contracts for service delivery to the community.
• Contribute to monitoring and evaluation frameworks for programs.
