Job summary

Freightmore Transport is seeking a hands-on workshop technician to complete light assembly and finishing work on semi trailers as part of a small team. This role is practical and involves working with hydraulics, airlines, brakes and related hardware, with occasional welding.

You will contribute both as part of a team and individually, ensuring workmanship and safety in a busy workshop and yard environment. Forklift operation is required and LF ticket is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with semi trailers or heavy vehicles/trucks.
• Comfortable around heavy vehicles.
• Forklift experience (LF ticket preferred).
• Practical mechanical fitting skills — hydraulics, airlines, brakes and general assembly.
• Able to work with others and independently.
• Reliable, safety‑minded and happy with workshop hours.

Responsibilities

• Fitting ramps and related hardware
• Fitting hydraulic hoses and predeliver power packs
• Fitting airlines as required
• Diagnosing and rectifying brake issues
• Light touch‑up work
• Occasional welding
• Using a forklift to move parts, assemblies and trailers around the workshop/yard
