Job summary

AECOM in Adelaide seeks an Associate Director – Structural Engineer (NSQEP) to lead complex seismic and safety-critical projects. You will guide design, analysis and delivery across defence, research and nuclear sectors, ensuring regulatory compliance and technical excellence.

Based in Adelaide with relocation options, you will mentor engineers, lead multidisciplinary teams, and drive client relations while upholding AECOM’s standards of quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; postgraduate in seismic or nuclear engineering is advantageous.
• 15+ years in structural engineering with seismic and safety-critical project experience.
• Experience as NSQEP or in highly regulated nuclear environments.
• Chartered Engineer and registered professional engineer or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural and seismic design of complex buildings and safety-critical facilities across defence, research and nuclear sectors.
• Provide NSQEP leadership and ensure compliance with codes and safety requirements.
• Deliver advanced structural analyses, including dynamic assessment and resilience studies.
• Mentor engineers and coordinate multidisciplinary teams with clients and stakeholders.
• Review quality of deliverables across all project phases and support regulatory submissions.
