Borg Central Coast, NSW, AU is seeking a Security Technician - Installer to join our Electrical team in Somersby. You will install CCTV and access control systems, cabling and related security equipment across commercial projects.

Ideal candidates will have cabling experience, a NSW driving licence, WHS white card and the ability to work with builders and project managers. Training and development for apprentices is provided in a growing, Australian-owned company.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Install CCTV and Access Control systems on diverse projects
• Work within the Electrical team across commercial, industrial and maintenance scopes
• Interpret electrical and architectural drawings and schematics
• Assist with commissioning of security systems and cabling installations
• Support training of apprentices and promote safe working practices

About Us

We are currently seeking an Individual with cabling experience to join our Electrical Team based in Somersby that is willing to proactively learn and grow with our Electronic Security Team.

Whilst working within the Electrical team you will be exposed to multiple disciplines throughout the electrical trade including but not limited to Commercial, Industrial, Maintenance installations and servicing of electronic security equipment.

To be considered for this role you will be able to meet the following essential selection criteria:

A current NSW Driving Licence

Current WHS white card

Ability to liaise with builders, foremen and project managers during contract works

Proven ability to work effectively within a team as well as independently

Ability to adapt to a constant changing work environment and scheduling

Takes pride in their work and completing projects to the highest of standards

Willingness to train apprentices with a positive attitude to ensure they become the best tradesman

Knowledge of installing Structured Cabling Systems

Basic computing troubleshooting skills

Able to interpret electrical and architectural drawings

• Security Class 2 Licence (Not essential to have but must be eligible to obtain)

The following qualifications are not essential but will be highly regarded in the selection process:

Experience with CCTV Install & Commissioning

Experience with Security Alarm/ Access Control Install & Commissioning

Elevated Work Platform Licence

Confined Space

Emergency First Aid / CPR

Working at Heights

Low Voltage Release and Rescue

Exposure to Milestone CCTV systems

Electrical License

Knowledge of AS/NZS 3000:2018, AS/NZS 3008.1.2:2017, AS/NZS 3017:2007, AS/CA S009:2020

This is a full-time permanent position within our Electrical team. To be successful in this role you must be self-motivated and be willing to put in the work needed to complete jobs in a timely manner. Attention to detail and highest quality workmanship are paramount.

As part of the selection process, applicants must be prepared to undergo a pre-employment medical examination which includes functional, audiometric and drug and alcohol testing.

Rate Will Be Negotiable Based On Experience And Qualifications.
