Job summary

Seek.com.au is seeking a qualified Electronic Security Technician to join our team on the Gold Coast. The role involves installing, maintaining and troubleshooting CCTV, alarms and access control systems for domestic and commercial clients, with on-site work required.

You will read wiring diagrams, configure hardware and software, and ensure systems operate reliably. The ideal candidate has Certificate III in Telecommunications Technology (or equivalent), at least 2 years of electronic security

Qualifications

• Experience as Security Technician (Electrical License not necessary but desirable).
• Certificate III in Telecommunications Technology and trade certificate or equivalent.
• 2+ years experience in electronic security systems installation and maintenance.
• Proficiency in wiring, hardware installation and system programming.
• Familiarity with CCTV, access control, alarms, and intercom systems.
• Knowledge of network protocols (IP, TCP/IP) and networking.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers to assess their security requirements and identify suitable solutions.
• Generate tailored solutions with specific emphasis on Electronic Access Control Systems (EACS), CCTV and alarm systems along with Network programing.
• Provide expert knowledge of our products and services to help guid customers' purchasing decisions.
• Service and maintenance of existing clients security systems.
• Configuration of security systems hardware and software.
• Diagnose faults and repairs on security systems.
• Strong communication skills and a customer focused approach.
• Self -motivated and the ability to work independently without supervision.
• Program and integrate security systems with software and network infrastructure.
• Test all components to ensure compatibility and optimal functionality.
• Ability to understand and explain electronic security systems to client.

We require a qualified Electronic Security Technician to join our team. The majority of our work is done in the Gold Coast and some surrounding regions (Domestic and Commercial). We are seeking someone motivated, trustworthy and presentable to compliment our team, with the skills to install, maintain and troubleshoot electronic security systems. This role requires a hands‑on professional with strong technical skills, problem solving abilities and experience woking on‑site. You will play a critical role in ensuring the security infrastructure operates efficiently and meets the needs of our clients.
