Job summary

Sydney Local Health District is hiring a Security Officer to protect staff, patients and visitors at Concord Repatriation General Hospital. The role covers the hospital campus and provides security support to the Mental Health Service, operating on a 24/7 rotating roster.

Ideal candidates have a Class 1A security licence, Senior First Aid, and experience with CCTV, alarm and access control systems, with strong customer service and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Licenced under Security Industry Act 1997 – Class 1A and current Senior First Aid Certificate.
• Customer service skills with integrity and motivation.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and complete patrols during shifts.
• Experience with alarm systems, access control, CCTV and FIP.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and security of staff, patients, visitors and property on hospital campus.
• Provide security support to Mental Health Service.
• Respond to alarms and security incidents with professionalism and empathy.

Concord Repatriation General Hospital has a well-earned reputation for excellence in healthcare for over 70 years. Building on its proud heritage of caring for the Veteran community, the hospital now services the local communities of Concord, Strathfield, Burwood and beyond.

The aime of this positon is to ensure the safety and security of staff, patients, visitors and property on the hospital campus in a positive, attentive and prompt manner.

The role is primarily based at Concord Repatriation General Hospital, while also providing security support to the Mental Health Service.

Ideal Candidate

• Licenced according to the Security Industry Act 1997 – Class 1 A and current Senior First Aid Certificate.
• Customer service skills with a high degree of personal integrity and motivation.
• Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision and complete all patrols and other security-related duties during a shift.
• Demonstrated experience and a sound understanding of alarm systems, access control systems, CCTV, and Fire Indication Panels (FIP).
• Proven experience in communicating and responding to challenging and aggressive situations, including interactions with distressed persons, while demonstrating empathy, integrity, and resilience in a variety of circumstances
• Ability to perform 12 hour shift work on a 24/7 rotating roster.

A current NSW Driver's Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable).
