Job summary

TRC Group is seeking an experienced Security Operations Engineer to join its SOC support for a major client. The role is a 6-month rolling contract with Melbourne-based preference, but Australia-wide applicants are considered.

Active NV1 clearance is mandatory, with emphasis on hands-on Sentinel monitoring, incident response and SIEM capabilities. Successful candidates will contribute to security monitoring, triage and incident management within a global technology consultancy.

Qualifications

• Active NV1 Security Clearance – essential.
• Proven experience in a Security Operations Centre (SOC).

We are seeking an experienced Security Operations Engineer to join a leading global technology consultancy, supporting a major client within an established Security Operations Centre (SOC). This is an initial 6-month rolling contract, with Melbourne-based candidates preferred, although applicants from other Australian locations will be considered.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Sentinel, security monitoring and incident response, along with a solid background working within a SOC environment. An active NV1 Security Clearance is mandatory.

• Proven experience working within a Security Operations Centre (SOC).
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Sentinel, including security monitoring, alert investigation and incident management.
• Experience investigating, triaging and responding to security incidents and threats.
• Strong understanding of SIEM technologies, threat detection and security operations.
• Experience analysing security logs, identifying suspicious activity and escalating incidents.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Defender and the wider Microsoft security ecosystem is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of security frameworks, incident response processes and common cyber threats.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate within an established SOC team.

Location: Melbourne preferred, open to candidates Australia-wide.

Contract: Initial 6 months, rolling extensions.

Clearance: Active NV1 mandatory.
