Job summary

Indigenous Business Growth seeks a Section Manager for a major transport infrastructure project in South East Queensland. You will lead safety, cost, program and quality for a section, manage subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams, and coordinate with adjacent work fronts.

The role requires a civil engineering degree, 12+ years' construction experience, and proven leadership of a large section on a 100m+ project. Greenfield logistics and commercial awareness are highly regarded.

Job description

A major transport infrastructure project (valued at more than $1 billion) is underway across South East Queensland, delivering complex civil and station works across greenfield environments. The head contractor is seeking a Section Manager to lead delivery of a significant civil or station section on the greenfield scope. You'll own safety, cost, program and quality across the section, manage subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams, and coordinate with adjacent work fronts — a strategic leadership role requiring extensive construction experience and commercial awareness in a complex project environment.

What We're Looking For

• Degree in civil engineering, construction management or related discipline (equivalent delivery experience may be acceptable)
• 12+ years' construction experience
• Leadership of a significant section or package on a $100m+ project
• Civil, structures, stations, rail, roads or utilities delivery background
• Demonstrated ownership of safety, cost, program, subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams
• Greenfield logistics and bulk works experience highly regarded
• 2+ years' average tenure per employer with at least one section leadership role held for 3+ years
• Commercial and contractual awareness for package performance management
• Strong leadership and team management skills
