Job summary

C4i Solutions in Sydney is seeking an experienced Security Operations Engineer to join our Cyber Security team. You will design, implement, maintain and optimise security technologies to detect, prevent and respond to cyber threats across customer environments, working with SOC analysts and infrastructure teams onsite.

The role focuses on monitoring, automation, platform integrations and incident support across on-prem, cloud and hybrid environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in cyber security engineering or related roles.
• Experience with enterprise security platforms (e.g., Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, Defender XDR).
• Strong knowledge of Windows, Linux, networking and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS).
• Certifications such as CISSP, Azure Security Engineer, GIAC preferred.
• Excellent communication and team collaboration.
• Australian citizen with NV1 clearance; ability to obtain NV2 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, configure and maintain enterprise security technologies.
• Develop detection rules, dashboards and automated response workflows.
• Engineer security integrations between platforms to improve visibility and incident response.
• Support investigation and resolution of complex cyber security incidents with SOC teams.
• Implement and maintain security hardening, logging, monitoring and audit controls across on-prem, cloud and hybrid environments.
• Develop automation scripts and orchestration workflows to improve security operations.
• Perform platform upgrades, patching and lifecycle maintenance for security technologies.
• Assess emerging threats and recommend enhancements to strengthen security posture.
• Produce technical documentation, architecture artefacts and engineering standards.
• Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to continuously improve security capabilities.
