Job summary

Catholic Education in the Diocese of Cairns seeks qualified Secondary Teachers for Newman Catholic College in Cairns, QLD for 2027. Roles are full-time and permanent, with a commencement on 18 January 2027. Salary ranges from A$86,600 to A$147,048 gross per annum, plus 12.75% superannuation.

Applicants must be registered or eligible with the Queensland College of Teachers and support the Catholic ethos of the College. Closing date: 1 November 2026 at 12:00pm.

Qualifications

• Be registered or eligible to register with Queensland College of Teachers.
• Demonstrated ability to teach multiple Key Subject Areas.
• Commitment to Catholic ethos of the school.
• Experience teaching senior Mathematics, English, or Science preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach Secondary subjects to Year 7–12 students in 2027.
• Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons aligned with Catholic Education goals.
• Assess, record, and report on student progress in line with school policy.
