Job summary

Holy Spirit College, Fitzgibbon, supports a Title Support Teacher (Inclusive Education/ ESL) to empower secondary students with diverse needs. The role is full-time, 30 hours weekly, and continues long-term within a Catholic education context in Brisbane.

The successful candidate will create nurturing learning environments, collaboratively implement inclusive practices, and engage with families and the wider community to deliver high-quality education aligned with policies and NCCD timelines.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of policies, practices, and strategies that support students with disabilities.
• Curriculum development and adaptation for diverse student needs.
• Understanding of NCCD and developing learning profiles with evidence.
• Effective classroom management to provide a nurturing, safe environment.
• Ability to engage with the wider community to build partnerships.
• Not required to be Catholic.

Responsibilities

• Create a nurturing, learner-centred environment aligned with curriculum policies for students with disabilities.
• Collaboratively develop inclusive education practices, evaluate effectiveness, and report progress to students, parents and community.
• Implement adaptive, inclusive teaching strategies and assess learning outcomes.
• Oversee Personalised Support Plans and ensure evidence for NCCD timelines.
• Engage in professional renewal and collaborate with leadership and staff.
• Provide supervision of students and support their pastoral, spiritual and moral development.
• Encourage involvement of school and students in church life and community learning programs.
• Support school events and celebrations.
