Job summary

Sutherland Shire Council is seeking a Seasonal Public Place Cleaner for a 6-month temporary contract. The role covers public spaces, town centres, parks and community facilities to maintain high cleanliness and presentation.

You will work outdoors across the Sutherland Shire, joining a supportive team with potential ongoing employment based on performance. Requires a Class C licence and other checks as listed.

Qualifications

• Current Class C Driver Licence is required.
• Working with Children Check is current.
• Ability to obtain National Criminal History Check.
• Experience in cleaning, public place cleansing, labouring or similar role.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Experience with manual handling and safe work.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude.

6-Month Temporary Contract

The Seasonal Public Place Cleaner is responsible for maintaining Council's public spaces, town centres, parks and community facilities to a high standard of cleanliness and presentation, helping to ensure our community remains clean, safe and welcoming.

Candidate Profile

We're looking for reliable and hardworking people with cleaning experience who take pride in their work and enjoy working independently as well as part of a team.

Essential

• Current Class C Driver Licence.
• Current Working with Children Check.
• Ability to obtain a National Criminal History Check.
• Experience in cleaning, public place cleansing, labouring or a similar role.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Experience undertaking manual handling tasks and working safely.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude.

Desirable

• Experience operating industrial cleaning equipment and machinery.
• Experience working in busy public environments.
• Strong communication skills.
