Job summary

Tassal Group is seeking skilled Forklift Operators for the Proserpine processing facility during the harvest season. Join our logistics and despatch team to move, store and dispatch premium prawns, supporting efficient warehouse operations with nightly and weekend shifts.

Ideal candidates bring a current forklift ticket and practical experience, plus a strong safety mindset and ability to work in a cold food environment. On-the-job training is provided for the right attitude and reliability.

Qualifications

• A current Forklift Ticket with practical experience.
• Full availability for the seasonal period from early November 2026 to mid-May 2027.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and potential weekend shifts.
• Ability to speak and understand English to a good standard for safety procedures and teamwork.
• Full working rights in Australia and reliable transportation.
• Physical capability for repetitive lifting and operating machinery.
• Willingness to undergo pre-employment health/functional assessment and alcohol/drug testing.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and WHS standards in a high-risk forklift environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts to move, stack, and organise palletised goods within warehouse and cold storage areas.
• Assist despatch with picking, packing, and preparing orders for timely dispatch.
• Load and unload trucks and containers.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure safe storage.
• Collaborate with processing staff to ensure smooth workflow between production and despatch.
• Follow health and safety protocols including cold-chain requirements.
