Job summary

Kuehne+Nagel Australia is recruiting for a Sea Logistics Operational Care Supervisor, VAS. You will lead export operations, optimise processes, and drive customer-focused service delivery while balancing efficiency and cost control.

In this role you will manage carrier relationships, support Customer Care teams, monitor KPIs, and drive continuous improvement across the sea logistics operation to deliver reliable, high-quality results for our global customers.

Qualifications

• Extensive freight forwarding and supply chain management experience.
• Strong knowledge of sea logistics and regulatory requirements.
• Proven leadership and people-management capabilities.
• Experience monitoring KPIs and driving cost/performance improvements.
• Ability to collaborate with Customer Care and cross-functional teams.
• Solid understanding of workflows, processes and operational controls.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive operational excellence across export service delivery and shipment management.
• Strengthen partnerships with Customer Care and internal teams to improve service outcomes.
• Maintain and strengthen carrier relationships while ensuring effective shipment execution.
• Collaborate with Systems & Processes and other stakeholders to boost productivity and service delivery.
• Monitor KPIs, support profitability targets, and manage cost and revenue accuracy.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and drive lean, efficient operations.
• Support resolution of claims and provide professional customer service throughout the experience.

As a Sea Logistics Operational Care Supervisor, VAS , you\'ll play a critical role in leading operational excellence, supporting your team to deliver high-quality outcomes while driving productivity, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

You\'ll combine operational expertise with people leadership to strengthen export operations, optimise processes, and enhance service delivery. From managing carrier relationships and supporting customer care teams to driving KPI performance and continuous improvement initiatives, you\'ll help create a reliable and cost-effective operation that supports both customer and business success.

This position is not just about supervising operations; it\'s about creating long-term value for customers and the business, balancing operational efficiency with service quality, and contributing to the continued growth of our sea logistics operations.

Responsibilities

• Drive operational excellence: Ensure high-quality shipment management and export service delivery through strong operational control and consistent performance standards.

• Strengthen partnerships: Collaborate closely with Customer Care teams, providing proactive information, solutions, and support that enhance customer satisfaction and service outcomes.

• Deliver solutions: Maintain and strengthen operational carrier relationships while supporting effective shipment execution and operational performance.

• Collaborate internally: Work closely with Customer Care, Systems & Processes, and operational stakeholders to improve productivity and service delivery across the business.

• Achieve business objectives: Monitor operational KPIs, support profitability targets, and ensure timely and accurate cost and revenue management.

• Drive continuous improvement: Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and workflows to create leaner, more efficient operations.

• Customer excellence: Support the resolution of claims and disputes while ensuring customers receive reliable and professional service throughout their experience.

Requirements

• Strong experience in freight forwarding and supply chain management, preferably within Sea Logistics.

• Knowledge of freight forwarding operations, regulations, and industry best practices.

• Good organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

• Familiarity with logistics systems, processes, products, and operational workflows.

• Knowledge of market conditions and carrier relationship management.

• Commercial awareness with an understanding of financial performance and decision-making.

• Clear and effective communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.

• Strong problem-solving capabilities and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
