Job summary

Verse is seeking an experienced Scrum Master to deliver Agile practices for a portfolio of software teams supporting decarbonisation initiatives in Australia. The role involves establishing effective Agile ways of working, facilitating cadences, maintaining backlogs, and removing blockers across multiple products.

It offers a 12-month contract with hybrid WFH, based in Perth, with either full-time or part-time arrangements (minimum 3 days per week).

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience as a Scrum Master.
• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies and backlogs across multiple teams.
• Coach Product Owners and stakeholders in Agile practices.
• Strong experience with Jira and Confluence.
• Experience in energy or mining sector is beneficial but not required.

Job description

Facilitate Agile delivery across a portfolio of software teams supporting a large energy company's decarbonisation goals.

We're looking for an experienced Scrum Master to join a leading energy organisation on a 12-month contract, supporting a software team building applications for decarbonisation, including energy balance modelling, cable management, EV charging and load forecasting.

The role will establish effective Agile ways of working, facilitate Scrum cadences, support prioritised backlogs, remove blockers, and help cross-functional teams deliver high-quality outcomes to key stakeholders.

This is a full-time or part-time (minimum 3 days/week) role based in Perth on a 12-month contract offering hybrid working arrangement (WFH).

About the Role:

• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies and establish effective delivery cadences across multiple teams.
• Coach teams, Product Owners and stakeholders in Scrum and Agile principles, roles and ways of working.
• Assist with prioritising and maintaining a visible, refined backlog across multiple products, with clear sprint goals and a shared standards.
• Identify and remove impediments; coordinate resolution of risks, issues and dependencies across teams.
• Promote transparency by maintaining JIRA boards/dashboards, delivery metrics and clear progress reporting.
• Facilitate release planning, reviews and retrospectives; track continuous improvement actions.
• Support collaboration across technical and business teams and consistent Agile practice adoption.

About You

You're an experienced Scrum Master with a strong understanding of Agile delivery across multiple teams and products.

• 5+ years' experience as a Scrum Master.
• Proven experience facilitating Scrum events including sprint planning, daily scrums, sprint reviews and retrospectives.
• Experience coaching cross-functional teams and Product Owners in Agile principles and accountabilities.
• Strong track record establishing delivery cadences, sprint goals and backlog refinement.
• Experience identifying and removing impediments, managing cross-team dependencies and escalating risks.
• Comfort working across multiple teams/products with a mix of technical and business stakeholders.
• Experience using delivery metrics for transparent reporting on flow, progress and predictability.
• Strong knowledge of Scrum framework, Agile principles, JIRA and Confluence.
• A recognised Scrum Master / Agile certification (e.g. PSM I, CSM, or equivalent).
• Experience in the energy or mining sector is beneficial, but not essential.
