Job summary

The State Government of Victoria is seeking a Scoping and Development Engineer to lead the technical scoping of complex transport projects in Ballarat. You will prepare project scopes, cost estimates and documentation in line with the Department's PM Framework, ensuring compliance and readiness for delivery.

About the role

The Scoping and Development Engineer develops and scopes complex transport projects to ensure they are technically sound, well planned and ready for delivery. The role prepares project scopes, cost estimates and supporting documentation in line with the Department's Project Management Framework, while identifying project risks and benefits.

The role works closely with internal and external stakeholders to support project development, ensure compliance with engineering standards and integrate projects effectively. It also contributes to a collaborative team environment, promotes safe and inclusive ways of working, and helps deliver high-quality transport infrastructure outcomes.

You’resomeone who:

  • Collaborates effectively with stakeholders and users to develop practical, customer-focused solutions and deliver projects on time.
  • Plans, coordinates and delivers projects, monitors progress and adapts to changing priorities to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Thinks critically to solve problems, follows established processes and uses sound judgement to identify effective solutions.
  • Has strong digital and technical skills, confidently using and supporting technology to improve project delivery and business outcomes.
  • Works collaboratively across teams, builds positive relationships and keeps customer needs at the centre of decision-making.
Qualifications and experience

You’llbring:

  • A Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction or equivalent (Mandatory)
  • Civil design and project management experience.
  • Driver’s License
