Job summary

Pathology Queensland in Mount Isa is seeking a Medical Scientist – Continuous Shift to perform scientific analyses across Transfusion Medicine, Haematology, Chemical Pathology and Microbiology, providing essential pathology services to the Mount Isa community and surrounding region.

Working on a continuous shift roster with professional autonomy and no on-site supervision, you report to the Supervising Scientist to help ensure safe, high-quality service around the clock.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge, expertise and skill in diagnostic testing and clinical interpretation within a multi-disciplinary setting.
• Ability to participate in multidisciplinary teams and contribute diagnostic skills across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Perform scientific analyses across Transfusion Medicine, Haematology, Chemical Pathology and Microbiology.
• Provide essential pathology services to the Mount Isa community and surroundings, outside normal hours on a continuous shift roster.

As a Medical Scientist – Continuous Shift, you’ll perform scientific analyses across Transfusion Medicine, Haematology, Chemical Pathology and Microbiology, providing essential pathology services to the Mount Isa community and surrounding region. Working as part of a continuous shift roster, you’ll take responsibility for all aspects of laboratory services outside normal hours, working with a high level of professional autonomy and without on-site supervision. You’ll report to the Supervising Scientist and play an important role in ensuring a safe, responsive and high-quality service around the clock.
