Job summary

TAFE NSW is seeking a casual Technical Officer (Scientific) at Ultimo Campus to provide hands-on laboratory support for science-based education. You will prepare equipment, manage consumables, and help maintain safe, well-organised learning environments for students and staff.

You will coordinate tasks, keep accurate records, and collaborate with teachers and suppliers to ensure resources are available when needed, while upholding health & safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience with scientific equipment, laboratory resources or technical facilities.
• Commitment to safety, accuracy and quality in all tasks.
• Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute scientific equipment and resources for teaching labs.
• Maintain laboratory facilities and manage consumables and inventory.
• Support servicing and calibration of equipment and setup of practical learning environments.
• Assist with safety documentation, chemical registers and SDS management.
