Job summary

Woodridge State High School in Queensland is seeking a proactive Workplace Health and Safety Coordinator to provide health, safety and wellbeing support to our school staff. You will work with a diverse range of people to create safer, healthier and more supportive workplaces for staff and students.

The successful applicant will identify emerging risks, contribute to continuous improvement, and help build a positive workplace safety culture.

Responsibilities

• Provide health, safety and wellbeing advice and support to school leadership and staff.
• Strengthen workplace health and safety practices and ensure compliance with the HSWMS.
• Conduct and support audits, inspections, emergency preparedness and hazard control activities.
• Support injured or ill staff through rehabilitation and return to work processes.
• Monitor WHS data to identify emerging risks and recommend improvements.
• Deliver training, inductions and awareness activities to promote a positive safety culture.
• Support the management and reporting of occupational violence and aggression incidents.
• Prepare reports, correspondence and recommendations for school leadership and HSW committees.
• Provide advice and compliance support for building fire safety, including Fire Safety Advisor duties.
• Coordinate health and safety responses and reporting during critical incidents.
