Job summary

Queensland Government via the Wellbeing Workforce is seeking a permanent part-time Social Worker to join Edens Landing State School, commencing January 2027. The role supports students from Prep to Year 12, delivering counselling and social welfare assistance within the school setting.

You will collaborate with school staff and families, apply clinical judgement to interventions, and contribute to innovative approaches to student wellbeing and mental health.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counselling to students, parents and families to help address personal challenges and relationship concerns.
• Conduct social welfare assessments, deliver appropriate interventions and provide follow-up support to students and their families.
• Identify support needs and coordinate referrals to relevant community services, including health and welfare agencies, while building stronger connections between families, the school and the wider community.
• Develop, coordinate and deliver programs and presentations that promote parent and community engagement and raise awareness of social issues affecting students' learning.
• Monitor and evaluate school-based programs, assist with responses to critical incidents, maintain confidential student records and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and community networks.
